There are two main reasons that games appear on this list:
- They were reprinted and/or had another game/expansion added to their franchise this year (Kingdom Builder, King of Tokyo, The Castles of Burgundy [English edition], D-Day Dice, Descent: Journeys in the Dark, The Resistance).
- They were “Essen”/end of the year games… they were released late in 2010 and were only played 5+ times by a couple of folks in 2011 (Friday, Eclipse, Risk Legacy, Ora et Labora, Mage Knight Board Game, Hawaii, Trajan, The City, Last Will).
A couple of thoughts:
- Always interesting to me how little Internet play affected this list.
- The Resistance can not be stopped – this is the second year in a row that it has appeared on this list!
