International Table Top Day is next weekend – are you ready?
International Table Top Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 5th, 2014. The goal is to get people playing games and raising awareness of our hobby. It is being spearheaded by the folks at Geek&Sundry.
International TableTop Day is a celebration for all the fans of tabletop gaming. A single day where the whole world is brought together in a common purpose of spending time together and having fun. We hope you find the resources you need — to connect new fans to experienced group organizers, retailers with their community, and publishers with the international community — all in one place.
They ask you to go to your favorite local game store, coffee shop, library, community center, or host a game day at your home and play more games. You can go to their website and search for an event near you!
http://www.tabletopday.com/
You can share your experience with us by using the social media hashtag #tabletopday on all your posts, pictures, stories, and videos. This way, we can all share in the fun wordwide. You can also follow @TableTopDay and @GeekandSundry on Twitter.
While the Opinionated Gamers will not have a specific event (since we’re spread out over 3 continents), I’m sure that many of our writers will be gaming on that day… We’d encourage you to go out and do the same!
As an aside, I recently wrote a guest piece for their blog discussing my approach to developing games – http://www.tabletopday.com/developing-boardgames/
