In addition to being a periodic contributor to The Opinionated Gamers, I write about board games and card games for About.com. This is the second year I’m taking part in the About.com Readers’ Choice Awards, which are designed to highlight the best products, features and services across a wide variety of topics, and I’d love to have the input of OG readers to choose the nominees in the board/card games categories.
There are a total of 11 game-related categories this year, all of which can be seen at the main 2012 Board/Card Game Readers’ Choice Awards. The categories include the best strategy game of 2011, the best party game of 2011, and the best iOS or Android game of 2011, in addition to the best local game store, the best Twitter account, the best Facebook page and more.
Inspired in part by the recent OG story about crowdsourcing’s impact on the game industry, one of the new categories for this year is the best Kickstarter game or campaign of 2011.
Today (February 15) is the final day to submit nominations, so don’t waste time — go ahead and make your nominations! A special thank you to OG Overlord Dale Yu for allowing this bit of cross-promotion… You’ll receive the payment in April, Dale.
