Yes, boardgaming has reached that next level – whatever that is. Thursday evening (Tomorrow – June 28th) at 7:30pm EST, Northstar Games will be hosting a live video feed promoting their new edition of Wits & Wagers. They’ve recruited big names from all over the boardgame blogosphere, and myself for some reason, for a live competition of the new Wits & Wagers Party. It’s the same “bet on your opponent’s answer” game as before, but with all new questions.
If you want to watch, tune in to http://www.youtube.com/user/rpmetzler?feature=watch by 7:30pm EST. I promise to yell at Tom Vasel to get off my lawn and claim to be losing only to make Scott Nicholson feel better about himself.
If that isn’t enough to draw you in, I’ve been given a prerelease copy to pass out to “my biggest fan” (no, not volume-based) who shows up at comments on the forums. “Biggest Fan” to be completely arbitrarily picked by me with absolutely no hint of impartiality. So most everyone has a chance at it unless Dale Yu starts to threaten to kill another puppy if I don’t send it his way to complete his random party game collection.
Come on by and support the Opinionated Gamers spirit! You know we would do it for you. (Well, we would if we didn’t have to weed the garden first, and maybe take the dog for a walk… but then we TOTALLY would be there for you, maybe.)
PS. I’ll be there representing both Opinionated Gamers, and my other gaming site – GamingWithChildren.com. So cheer for me or either site, I don’t care. No, really. No one is getting paid for any of this, so hopefully it will simply be fun… Maybe this stunt will finally get me a mention on Board 2 Pieces.
PPS. You know you want to be there when competitive online boardgaming finally takes off… well this will give you a chance to see what it might look like – when that happens some day… too bad we’re just a bunch of gamers who can’t talk about their hobby enough in person so we have to spill our thoughts out onto the web.
Sorry all, should have said June 28th! Fixed that now…
My money is on you Matt!
