The Spielfrieks user group has finished their first week of voting for the Meeples Choice Awards. 29 games have received nominations. During the coming week, the voters will select their favorites from that group and the top three games will be crowned as the MCA winners for 2019.
Interestingly, we had a write-in nominee for the first time this year. Little Town was not originally on the ballot, but someone mentioned that even though it came out in 2017, it had received very little exposure outside of Japan until this year. Our rules expressly allow a game like that to be voted for, so with less than two days remaining, it was placed on the ballot and, very impressively, managed to get enough votes to win a nomination. Very cool!

It’s such a shame Babylonia hasn’t had a US release. It really is up there with Knizia’s very best in my opinion.
