After looking back at my Gen Con experience each year, I also like to look back at my Gen Con writing. This year there were 24 posts covering about 61 publishers and something close to 150 different games or expansions mentioned. Hopefully there was something in there of value to you. Listed below are all of my posts for this year, along with the names of the games mentioned. Just in case you wanted to search for somethings specific.
I didn’t have space for a separate “Funny Gen Con Photos” post by itself so I’ve tucked some of the more interesting stuff at the end of this summary… share and enjoy…
If you’ve stuck with me the whole way I now hand you over to all the Essen coverage that will be coming down the pipe.

And now, some photos:
Very cool stained glass from the Geekorthodox booth.
I didn’t take it for a spin but I suppose that’s one way to work off what you’re drinking. In theory at least the driver shouldn’t be drinking?
Yes, there was a booth just for RPG themed pet toys.
There’s always folks hanging out behind the blue line to get their photo taken.
While leaving my house Sunday morning, even though I live in town, I had a minor invasion of my own, I had to chase this crowd away from my apple tree.
One of the most awkward moments of the con for me. I was not willing to reach into the bottom-hole of this cat/rat/something for a free copy of (I think the newest game in the Exploding Kittens line?) eww…
The first ever (as far as I know) Gen Con game market! I grabbed a few games on the request of a friend…
More Game Market!
Electronic Minigolf in the arcade hallway.
People were going gaga over this Dungeon Crawlin Carl merch at the Renegade booth. Lines were crazy long when stuff was available…
I paused for a photo after talking to the folks at Wizards of the Coast about upcoming Dungeons and Dragons releases. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to change so had to get the photo in my regular clothes.
As always, there are ads everywhere, including the bathrooms. This year there were several storylines going on in cartoons courtesy of World of Trash. I never quite found the entire series but here’s a sample, all found on bathroom mirrors.
We’ll leave you with this poor line of souls I encountered Wednesday evening when I went to get my press pass. All these people are Game Masters checking in for the convention. They get some perks for running role playing games at the convention but I guess waiting in fewer lines might not be one of them.
