Dale Yu: last report FROM the GoF

Well, my week here is just about up – I’m heading home today.  Not a lot of games being played today for me – it’s a bright sunny warm day, so I was a tourist this morning.  Had a nice 3 mile walk around Goat Island as well as the Canadian side to see the Falls from all sides.  Went to my favorite pizza place in Niagara Falls (Ontario) – Pizza Antica on Victoria St.  Well worth the 15 minute walk and the 50 cent toll to re-enter the United States (or should I say that it’s a 50 cent tax to leave Canada?)

Tonight is the Boardgamegeek.com admin dinner/annual meeting – so there will be a bunch of beer, wings and other fun foods.  Maybe we can get more tempura battered bacon like we had at the Pearl Street Brewery earlier in the week…

Stuffed banana pepper pizza and tempura battered fried bacon

An interesting cheese-less pizza with anchovies, green olives, and sausage.  Actually quite tasty!

Ok, now time for the games…

Expect a review on this set of mini-games soon – 5 sports themed games that you can fit in your pocket provided by Rob Bartel

Consider this a teaser – a single picture about a game based on hedgehogs or echidnas.  They’re huge and fairly cute. I believe Kris Gould is the designer

OK, I lied, here is a double rainbow in front of the Maid of the Mist

Maybe one more post today if I can get it done.  If not, I’ll have a more complete write up, you know – where I actually talk about the games – next week when I get home and settled (and catch up at work)

Until your next appointment,

the Gaming Doctor

The Hedgehog game looks like a Spiel des Afternoons entry. Or a Zoch prototype (provided there is also Hedgehog poop in the game, of course).

They’re Echidnas. And how did Friedemann not design all those FF sports games?
